Emerald and indeed many communities outside Melbourne Metropolitan area rely on the outstanding services provided by local volunteers to keep our communities safe and help us in times of need
The local SES, CFA, Police and Ambulance help our local community in times of need. Be it a car accident, house fire, bush fire, storm, fallen trees or lost children. These dedicated men, women and children respond in an instant to help our local community.
Each year the local emergency services in Emerald put on a major demonstration. Previous demonstrations have included burning vehicles, car rollovers, head on accidents and a simulated level crossing accident

These demonstrations help the community understand how all the local services co-ordinate in the event of a major incident. It showcases the skills of those involved and last, importantly forms part of the ongoing training that the services require.
The 2007 demonstration promises to be bigger and better than ever before. The Emergency Services demonstration team won't even tell the Winterfest Organising Committee what is planned for this year, they have hinted that you won't see anything like this outside Tullamarine.
